The Mitzi Skiff line of boats all started 7 years ago when I couldn’t find the particular boat I wanted. I wanted a skiff that was simple in layout for fly fishing, was quiet, had shallow draft and  something that did not cost a small fortune. I could not find a skiff that had these features, so being that boat design was a hobby of mine, and I had built a few, I designed one. Well halfway into the project a lot of people where asking me about it. I was one of the editors of our local fly fishing clubs newsletter so a lot of people knew about the project and asked about boats. I finished the skiff, sold a few, and it just went uphill from there. The next thing I knew I had boats from Utah to the Bahamas ! We still build that same 15’ skiff though improved, with the addition of a few other boats. All of our boats are built with the same proven quality as the original Mitzi, all composite, no wood construction, and the quietest poling hulls you can imagine.  We pay attention to each and every boat we make to be sure someone will have a long lasting durable skiff without maintenance nightmares.

I would like to say thanks to all the people, and customers that helped make Mitzi Skiffs such a huge success over the years, it has been a wonderful experience for me and everyone here at Mitzi Skiffs and we look forward to continuing to offer you flats boats that offer shallow water performance at a decent price.
